Bathroom Walls In

Well the bathroom walls are finally in. The toilet turned out to be the most difficult part to get flush on the front wall, but it is now in and any gaps between the bathroom walls and the van walls have been filled in. The bathroom unit is going to be sealed with liquid rubber and then covered over with a vinyl laminate.

Coming along slowly

It has been a while since my last post. Progress is very slow, having said that though a good bit is done. The fridge is now vented and in place, construction of the fridge cabinet will start shortly. The main cabin has the partition in, seperating it from the gas/leisure batteries etc in the back.

The bed/seating section is also all in now with plenty of starage room under the seats. The battery container is under the left seat and the hot water heater is under the right seat at the back.

The bathroom unit is just about complete. One more wall has to go in and get the pipes connected then seal it up and it should be good to go!

Windows in and lining and roof done

The windows are now in and have insulated and lined the whole inside. The roof was no fun job, with only one man on the job, however it is all in and looks good. The flooring is also now done. The wood floor lino from bargaintown looks great and will be easy to keep clean.

Skylight and insulation

Progress is slow!!!!! The project is finally starting to take a bit of shap, but with only being able to work on it one day a week...I have the feeling this could take me the guts of 6-7 months to complete.
Managed to install the skylight over the weekend and a vent for the bathroom....no easy feat I might add, but with a bit of help I finally managed to get these in and they are looking pretty good!

I have also insulated the floor and riveted the panels back into place. Insulation has been put in on the walls and back doors and all the electrical cables and water piping have been manouvered into place.

I attempted to put one of the windows in the sliding door, but decided that this is probably best left to a professional after about two hours of trying to get the window into the rubber seal!

Gutting the inside....how bad is the rust?

The van was in pretty good condition when I got it...with very little extreior rust at all. I stripped out all the wall and floor ply and examined the base and walls for rust...and again surprisingly very little, however there was shed loads of dirt that had accumulated under the mats at the front and around the wheel wells.

Having cleaned all the dirt out of the vanand sanding down a few rusty parts and then waxoiled the whole inside of the van, primaily along the joining lines of all the metal supports.
